Why cant people be original with gamer tags
a friend asked me to sign up for a 10 day trial of the new star trek mmo and some snot muncher has used the name morkelb already a name first used here of all places on the net
why cant gamers be more original in naming things?the first myth of reality is freindship: for as the tide of battle turns so does ones alligiences
the second myth of reality is Love: for only a fool searches for what will ultimately be his downfall
the third myth of rality is fear: no matter how strong a person is the demons of fear will always control you

it just boggles the mind at why people when online or in an mmo feel the need to copy anything and everything for a screen name. why not be original? when i played w.o.w i cant tell you how many well known anime, hollywood names, or even music names copied or mispelt just so people can think they cool cause they can mispell things. come on if i can learn to type then people can learn to be original right?

I've had that happen to me, as well. It's a little strange to think that someone is out there using your handle and probably sucking, disgracing you. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it right back to them! ;D
As far as MMO's go, I know that some people like cosplaying as characters, as if they were alive. My girlfriend's brother has recruited me to playing two cosplayers on Gaia, one of which is Snow Velliers from FFXIII (Richard!) and the other is Itachi from Naruto, apparently. It's weird pretending to be a game/anime character, but eventually you can get used to it. Your interests are also immediately apparent to anyone seeking to be your friend.
