View Full Version : Jackson and Child

This was a drawing I had to do for a class (but the idea was all my own, although I took the easy way out and referenced a photograph I found on-line for the pose). Circumstances forced me to rush through it in order to meet the due date, so there are billions of errors that annoy the crap out of me. I post it only because it's still a bit creepy and I like the concept behind it.
Parody of the oft-used "Madonna and Child" theme of many Renaissance paintings:

Hey! You got his nose right!
That is something to be proud of. Did you base it off "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" ? I like it overall, it portrays Jackson as kind of a creepy spooky old man who hasn't realized he's all washed up.
And, that's what he is =)

One question:
If Jackson was originally black, but then developed vitilago, why are his kids white?

I don't know, Blade, but that question must've been raised in my class a million times while I was working on this. I'd never spent so much time discussing the mysteries of "Whacko Jacko" prior to those few weeks.
Robbie -- Nope, can't say I see the correlation between this and the Grinch, but now you've gotten something stuck in my head . . .

Watch the animated version some time. The "Whos" all have Jackson noses.

Ohhhh, yes . . . I guess this means the historical Whos of Whoville were actually a plastic surgery cult that artificially enlarged the Grinch's heart with tissue taken from his rotund butt?
Vaulidor -- You'll need to upload your stuff to a Web server and link from there.

We must think alike, because that is the first thing I thought of when I saw that nose. *shudders*

Actually, I didn't paint it; it's conté crayon, which is a lot like chalk. Michelangelo used it a lot for his preliminary drawing studies before starting on a painting.
And I drew it to make people shiver and shudder and squirm in their seats. Good to see my dreams are being fulfilled. :D

I think they're white because the woman he did to get them was white.

Still, they would be mulatto. They'd be dark tan. Instead, they are caucasian.
It's all genetics dude.

I don't think they're his anyways. They could be the milkmans!

... that is of course assuming both of them are racially pure, and that the 'average' was reached. If we assume that neither is 100% of any one race, then any number of oddities could occur.

Like the fact that I'm the only person alive in my family with ginger hair. I got it from my great-granddad.
