View Full Version : The Mistaken Era

2000 years ago the Gods ceased to exist, taking with them heaven and hell. The world is plunged into chaos. No longer were the ideals and ethics that had made the world what it was held close to the heart of all the citizens on the planet. All that mattered were desires. For some, that comes to mean the desire for happiness, others war and revenge that had been subdued for far too long.

The mysterious disappearance of the Transites causes the world police, the Sumians, to crumble. Internal philosophical and political bickering leaves the Sumians open to invasion. 100,000 Kainynes assemble in a early strike force and raids Sumian land. Lack of ability to mobilize the military, as well as that same military no longer backed by their Transites, causes the country to fall. 30,500 Kainyne soldiers occupy the Sumian capital after only 3 months of conflict. Kainyne occupation of Sumia begins.

Five years later the Felines amass their army and strike at the Kainynes on Sumian land, fighting for control of the advanced technologies that had allowed the Sumians their position for as long as it did. War ravages throughout continuously for centuries.

With Humans trying to hold their ground amidst the chaos, trying to pour funds into their military for strength and safety, leaves their tenuous alliance with a small handful of elven races strained.

Fights for Elven dominance rings out amongst the variants of the Elven people, and when the Blood Elves come out with the most control, they invade numerous Orc, Ogre, and Goblins states…eventually leading to the near extinction of Ogres and Goblins. The Orcs are enslaved and turned into Elven cannon fodder for what would be war against the Humans. However, the Humans manage to counter in time and a stalemate keeps the bloodshed to a minimum.

Hundreds of thousands of citizens of all nations flee to millions of islands scattered in the world, seeking to make a new life while the world they once were apart of falls before them. Island states formed everywhere, most with only lightly armed militias.

1500 years later a collection of islands to the south of the Sumia mainland come together under a new religion called the Hand of Odin. The founder preaches that sole god had survived the Ragnarok and had given him the job to reunite the people of the world and create the golden age for all. Followers join rapidly to the cause, bringing assorted technological and magical abilities with them. Within a couple decades, 5 million followers come under the flag of the Hand of Odin. These followers are then classified the Premiers.

With the Kainynes and Felines exhausted from war, their ability to resist the 300,000 Hand of Odin followers crushed both militaries in control of the Sumian homeland. A new capital city, Odinia, is founded on the ruins of a massive Sumian city, and a proclaimation by the head of the followers to sent to all remaining nations of the world. They are either to bow to the word of Odin, or perish under the might of His followers.

The Elves immediately respond with a massive strike of Orc slaves. They never make it past their beachheads on the western coast. Rumours fly that a massive creature arrived on the scene of the battle and killed most of the Orc force. Most shrug it off as delusion and fright.

With the solidification of the once Sumian land to the Hand of Odin, attention shifts to drawing in more to the cause and to make an example to the world of the strength of their faith and might thereof. Using a large number of mastered Mages, the Drow Elves underground home is, literally, crushed. None of the witnessing nations say anything in defiance.

With that, the leader of the Hand of Odin declares that a new time, a new era, has come. The years of the Foundation Era begin.

The Present, Year 218 of the Foundation Era.

Fears are mounting in the Human countries as a military movement of Followers comes in their direction, invading the outer islands. Those who declare their obedience to the cause are taken in. The men of those who don’t are killed, the women raped, and the children taken to ships to be brought to Odinia for “religious reconstruction”.

The Humans decree a state emergency and the entire military force is mobilised to the coastline of the invasion force. Hundreds of mercenaries are hired by the government for use in the defence effort. Thousands of humans in the country cry out for the government to lay down their arms, and allow themselves follow “the way”. The government rejects that, and continues to prepare for war of an army rumoured to be in the millions.

Well, that’s what I got. Figured that was the best way to maximize the amount of material everyone could use for characters.
Here’s what the profiles should be like. I’ll do mine later.

Several things:
1. I'm going to assume that the events of Dawn of Ragnarok did not occur whatsoever, considering the Sumians (not Sumirians) are around.
2. Based on the races and your previous comments, I'm assuming as well this takes place in the world we all know and love. So, the magic seal was sealed again at the end of Shadow of the Past...what's the status of magic, or with the dissapearance of the gods and transites, did magic become freely available once more.
3. Were the Kainynes and Felines wiped out, or just the invasion forces in Sumia?
4. I'm sure the drow Underdark was not completely destroyed, so is it possible for some drows to be alive?
5. You said the gods ceased to exist 2000 years ago...what is the timeline of the events, clarified. Is it simply in the past 2000 years this happened, or they dissappeared and 2000 years later Kainyne's invaded Sumia, and 1500 years later the islands came together, and now it is 218 years after that?
6. What races compile the Hand of Odin?
7. F*ckin-A

1 and 2. Well, an alternate version of Dawn of Ragnarok occured, the change being in the Sumirians. Didn't really exist. What I had originally thought, happened. The Gods fell at the end, thus being Ragnarok. Becuase of the Dawn of Ragnarok the Seal remains broken. Magic is freely usable.

3. Just the invasion force. Both races were forced back to their homelands with their tail between their legs, literally. The followers of Odin are raging war with them(lightly), I figure, but that can be made up if anyone wants to do a character with that background. I have no bias there.

4. Some to be alive, no problem. But their home and place of origin is gone. Might be story related...*shifts eyes*.

5. Since Dawn of Ragnarok occured(again, in one fashiopn or another), It was a pretty all-of-a-sudden thing that caused the Sumians to fall. With their lifeblood gone, the Kainynes jumped on the opportunity to crush the long time foe. The Gods fell at one point, and shortly after(relatively, given the scale of time here) the Sumians lost their ability to police the chaos of the world.

6. Various. Since members of all races scattered during the chaos of the time, all races helped formed the Hand of Odin. Over time, more and more variety has come to the cause. I mentioned that somewhere about the combination of technologies of the races that fled and brought in to the HoD.

7. Yes, Indeed.

Okay.. I was thinking of using an already created character that I have never brought into the plain of Ragnarok's existence.
It won't be Kyan... again.
It's a male character of course lol. Males just seem to be so fun but girls can be even more fun if there's whips and chains and stuff involved... *ahem*
I actually have a link already created for the character if you guys wanna browse over it. Here's the link: http://www.freewebs.com/kingkeo22/drakkalynillisonkaeris.htm

TLDR on the character sheet. I'm sorry, but my attention span can't handle that much detail.
on another note, I somewhat refuse to use MSN, so coordination of anything would have to be over some other medium.

Vauly: Good profile, I must say. One thing: could you write a Bio for him that relates to the story? It's all that's really missing to fit him in.
Ted: I figure we'll just use this thread for coordination. Because so far, it looks like MSN isn't going to be very viable anyways. We're all just busy enough for it not to work.

Dragonlady

Sure, Omni. I plan to update some things to him anyway.
So are we limited to one character? I don't mind either way.
Oh yeah, I was thinking, Omni! If there are like encounters and wanna-be disputes leading to fights between characters, it's possible, I was thinking of a number system to do.
Like say, my characters goes after K-9's character. I was thinking IN my post I'll just have my character pull off several attacks (limitation? 5 maybe?) in one post and I could send a PM to you via Square (no MSN) of some random numbers through 50 or 100, whichever works. And from those 5 numbers K-9 could come up with a sum of his own numbers and enlist them in this discussion thread and you, Omni give the ones I made up. And from my numbers that match to his in HIS responding post my character's attacks either hit or miss and in that same post he would have to put that number of hits and dodges and from depending on which abilities my character uses hit his character. Also I was thinking that any of those random numbers we pick we pick one of those numbers and use red font to verify if it's a critical/severe or a head shot attack.
Or the matching numbers could be vice versa. This was an idea I thought up while at work.

1. Haven't decided yet. Seeing as you're the only one so far to post a character...no.

2. I figure, since we should all be more mature nowadays than before, that IF two characters have to go at it to that extent, that they'll have to sort out the battle ahead of time and send me a breif outline (mostly just injuries sustained, and the winner) of it. Otherwise, if they can't agree...I decide in a fair and unprejudice manner. If I'm one of the participants in this kind of uncooperative fight, than someone else will mediate it in my place.

But again, I'm hoping that we're all more mature than to squable like that. We're not children anymore, for F-sake.

Oh come on, fighting among characters brings more climax to the game and story.
I'm actually hoping for some degrees of conflict and some arousal of love-interest in the game. And some circle-jerk of jealousy involved. It's more exciting and brings a twist to the story. I like twists. It's fun F-ing with someone's mind XD
Edit-ed: I'm working on the history for my character now. I've added some more stuff. A more indepth of his history comes from his journal entries.

Here we go, I'm taking a crack at it. Hopefully I remembered the details correctly from ROT and ROT2.

Name: King Ramis Alisis Jamoto
Age: 456 (about 45 and 7 months in human years)
Race: Kainyne
Sex: Male
Class: Paladin
Alignment: Lawful Neutral (believes he is Lawful Good)

Appearance:
The Kainyne are a race of many variants, as varied in size and shape as dogs. Ramis a purebred descendent of the Ros Lupo, the highest class in the Kainyne system much like King Sunai Daishuro was so many years ago. He has an imposing stature, standing 6 feet 9 inches tall and very muscular. His face is the shape of the red wolf, with sapient facial features capable of expressing the spectrum of emotions. As with any dog, he has a mouth full of sharp teeth made for tearing. His eyes, as with all Kainyne, glow a deep crimson with no visible iris. His body is built, but lean, having similar structure to humans except that the Kainyne are digitgrade and thus walk on their toes (think dogs and cats). The other main difference is each limb only has four digits, with four toes on the feet and three fingers and an opposable thumb on the hand, as well as pads on the palm/bottom of each. These are ended with hard, black nails as in dogs.
Ramis is covered in thick, albeit not too long fur, from head to toe. The only spots not covered are the area of his pectoral and abdominal muscles, which are the same black as his nails but made of flesh, and the pades on his hands and feet. His fur is mostly a dark auburn, with some mottled black and gray spots (the gray is mostly on the underside of his tail, which is about the length from his tail bone to the back of his knee). Ramis' only other distinguishinh feature is his torn left ear, which is torn diagnoally from three quarters down to three quarters up.

Weapons:
Shield of Ythalom:
The shield of Kings, defender of the Kainyne capital and holy land. It is perfectly round, with a diameter of four feet which is big enough to cover a low-crouching Ramis. The outside is rimmed with silver hycenthis, the hardest metal known to Kainyne craftsmen, three inches thick. This is studded sixteen times evenly at compass points with two inch long spade-like spikes at 8 compass points. In the centre there is an alloy of hycenthis and various metals which is a ashen gray. A central circle about a foot in diametre again is made of pure silver hycenthis. In each area of the shield, various engraving and work are done except the central hub, which is smooth and round. Ramis usually carries this weapons on his left arm, or slung over his back when not in use. The shield is blessed by the high-priests of Ythalom with an enchantment of protection.

Halimoto Spear:
A spear as tall as Ramis himself, made of a straight wooden shaft covered in various spots by hycenthis designs and engravings. The blade is a foot long blade of pure hycenthis without any engravings. It is said that the blade was dipped by the royal smithy into the Fashwa river when cooling, giving it a razor sharp edge that never dulls.

Straightsword of Xavier:
A relic of the past, given in a time when diplomacy ran high and international relationships were not sour. This blade survived the millennia in the royal palace of Kardassia before being refitted by the Kainyne royal smith. Much of the original sword remains, being a broadsword with a ten inch long hilt and a two and a half foot long, five inch wide blade. The pommel and crossguard being made of a ashen-gray material while the grip is an unknown black material. The blade is double-edged, formally of an unknown black metal that is slightly weaker than hycenthis. The blade has been reoutfitted, with the central portion being of this material while the outer half-inch on either side has integrated hycenthis as the edge for cutting.

Attire:
Ramis wears highly decorative royal armour designed specifically for the King of Kardassia. The clothing and armour are interweaved as one. On his head he wears a white-golden crown decorated with silver with nine spikes each bearing nine jewels of different colours symbolizing the dukedoms of Kardassia. His pectoral, abdomen, and upper back are covered in a stylized armour made of hycenthis. This is a bright silver with various carvings and softer metals added for effect. This is weaved into shimmering silver cloth interlaced with dragon scales which connects with a pauldron on each shoulder which protects the shoulder and midway down the bicep. Each forearm and hand is protected by engraved gauntlets.
His hips and inner thighs are protected by samurai-like armour of similar fashion that reaches just above his knees. The same cloth used to hold the upper armour together reaches halfway to the knees and terminates. The final component of his armour are armoured boots, fashioned to support his weight more easily for his digitgrade legs, which reach just above the knee and are sectioned for movement and stylized and engraved with metals. The final piece of his outfit is cloak which brushes the ground made of the same material as his shirt and shorts, and is a shining silver colour.
On his left hip above his armour Ramis wears a wooden scabbard painted white and laced with white gold and silver designed tied around his waist by a belt made of silver cloth. Clasps are securly fitted to his armour on his upper and lower back in several places which serve to fasten his spear as well as to sling his shield from when not in use.

Personality:
Ramis is a proud and noble leader, pursuing every day what he believes to be best for his people. However, this often leads him into situations that may be morally questionable. In his mind it is all for the good of greater Kardassia, but it may not be good for other nations and peoples. He comes off as patronizing, overbearing, and somewhat zealous about his beliefs but is also very insightful into the going-ons in and around him. He knows when to fight and when to search for diplomacy, when the ally and when to fend for himself. His sense of loyalty to his friends and his people is one thing that can not be brought into question, and he will not hesistate to die for these things. He is not a monarch who holds himself above the people but rathers walks among them listening to their concerns and experiencing their plight and thus has fashioned a working country with a relatively happy populous.

Fighting Style:
Ramis is a warrior made for the front ranks, possessing immense strength coupled with a good degree of speed, wits, and fighting prowess. He will trade blows for a long time with one or multiple enemies without tire, although he does step back once in a while to charge a spell up or to heal and augment the abilities of allies. He uses a combination of magic and physicality to defeat foes.

Abilities:
Light of Namurito:
A spell of supernatural healing able to mend basic injuries that usually only time could heal. Small fractures, flesh wounds, first degree burns, bruises, and general discomfort and pain can easily be remedied while injuries that are slightly more serious such as larger fractures, slices in the skin, deep tissue bruises, second degree burns, and dislocations will be mended a small amount. Complete breaks in bones, deep wounds, third degree burns, and any fatal injury can not be healed.

Ythalom's Ward:
Ramis begins to emite a radient white glow that envelops his body and gives him temporary invulnerability to basic magical attacks.

Zephyr Shield: The air around Ramis or an ally seems to thicken, causing incoming physical attacks to slow down drastically and thus lessen in strength and damage.

Briskness:
Haste, on himself or an ally. Magic causes the heart rate to quicken, muscles to tighten, neural activity to speed up drastically, and waste management in muscles to become very efficent resulting in greatly increased speed for a short time.

Zeal:
Basically Berzerk, Ramis draws energy in from around himself which causes him to become stronger and attack with a fervour, speed and relentlessness not normally awarded to him.

Faith:
Ramis is able, with a quick spell, to cause allies who have begun to lose hope or flee to quickly rethink their actions and return to the battle with more conviction and a renewed drive. The effects of this are generally limited to subordinates, while it is ineffectual on his equals and those of higher intelligence.

Coronary Tenebrosity:
With weapons aglow with white light, Ramis plunges the blade straight into his enemies heart. Though the victim does not suffer any physical ailment from the blow, the darkness in their heart his drawn into the blade and expelled upon removal to cause physical harm.

Deliverance:
Ramis summons holy energy onto his weapon/into his hands and lets a blast of concussive energy capable of harming anyone in its path.

Resplendence of Overhallow:
Parting the clouds, a rain of holy energy erupts from the heavens causing massive damage to any evil in the vicinity while leaving the good untouched.

Those are his main attacks. Alternately, he has some prowess in elemental and non-elemental magic ranging from a sort of concussive blast to manipulation of elements although to a small extent. He can form fireballs and strike lighting but this is very limited. His main skills are based around holy magics.

Okay, double post, but the Bio won't fit in the regular one. I moved this up so they went together.

Biography:
At the end of the Rain of Terror, many millenia ago, a new King emerged in Sumia. The legends of yore had been realized, and the White Kainyne, the relatively young Sunai Daishuro, emerged to rule the Kingdom of Kardassia as the rightful heir, decendent of the demi-god Halimoto the forebearer of the Kainyne race. The people were united under the religion of Ythalom, and all was well. All the while, Sunai was raising his adopted son, a Sumian.

The events of the Rain of Terror had brought peace and unity where there was once war between the Kainyne and the Sumians. This was signified by Sunai's adopted son named after his mortal enemy and best friend, Carpon Orliaus, who sacrificed his life and left a newborn child on the smoldering battlefield where he once stood. Carpon Orliaus Sunai Daishuro (Cos) grew up under Sunai's care until the second Rain of Terror began two decades later and Sunai fell to his former friend and ally, Drakkien. Cos took on his father's battle, and fought temptation and evil to emerge good. Cos had an ability unique at the time to a Sumian. While Sumians are the only race able to summon Transites to fight alongside of them, Cos absorbed their very being and became the Transite when he called upon its power. He became able to draw the spirit of his dead father out and the White Kainyne lived in the young Sumian to help turn the tide of the second Rain of Terror.

Kainyne society began to stir. Two sects of Ythalom broke out, supporters of the Cos' rightful claim to the throne and those who opposed his rule on ethnic grounds. The latter already had a new King in mind, the son of the king whose throne Sunai had usurped previously. Ideologies clash and civil war soon turned into international war as Sumia came in with its technology and its transites to turn the tide. Battle raged for hundreds of years, with two kings claiming the throne: the son of the previous King, as Kainyne's enjoy longevity, and the decendants of Cos who all came to be able to summon the White Kainyne into their being and transform themselves into Him.

Surprisingly, the Kainyne eventually won the battle and the original King's grandson, Tewsin Etris Jamoto ruled Kardassia as the one King, uniting the divided provinces and making them dukedoms for his kin to rule. The line of Kings was unbroken for many millenia, weathering the three Magic Wars to seal the Magic Seal, and gaining relations with the human Xavier house which has all but faded from existence. Relations with Sumia returned to their former state, a state of bitter hate not seen since Sunai lusted for revenge on Carpon. For many of these thousands of years, the Kainyne have stayed quiet and well-hidden but have at times emerged.

Ramis was born 238 years before the Hand of Odin declared the start of the foundation era, and has ruled the Kingdom of Kardassia and its nine dukedoms since the very first year of this era. His father had been carrying on the war for Sumia for many hundreds of years but as the Hand of Odin moved in and crushed the Kainyne and Feline armies he had to admit defeat. He did not escape the Hand of Odin, however, and was executed along with dozens of leader who would dare resist. Ramis was still in Kardassia at the time as Prince and ruled a dukedom. He took his father's death very hard, and swore revenger on the Hand of Odin.

The faith of Ythalom has remained strong in Kainyne culture save for the defecters to the Hand of Odin. Ramis, as the divinely appointed ruler, is a ward and pervayer of this faith. He leads his armies under the banner in opposition to the Hand of Odin. The Kainyne are a warrior race, and Ramis is a warrior king, and he will lead his army to battle and fight to his last breath. Ramis has spent all of his 218 years as King waging war with this group and millions of Kainyne have lost their lives. He will continue this until either Odinia or Kardassia falls.

Ramis is no saint; he does what he does for his people, and for the memory of his father. He cares not for the plights of other races and will ally only to defeat the greater threat. His hope is to destroy the entire foundation of the Hand of Odin and the rest will play itself out in any oppurunity he sees fit to take hold of.

K-9: Damn good.

I'm actually hoping for some degrees of conflict and some arousal of love-interest in the game. And some circle-jerk of jealousy involved. It's more exciting and brings a twist to the story. I like twists. It's fun F-ing with someone's mind XD.

Drama's great, Vualy, but conflict is iffy if we're all suppose to have our characters working together for the fight against the primary foe. Internal conflicts seem short sighted for mature characters. But whatever...we'll see how it goes...

If the game is sufficient length, some internal conflict is probably bound to happen. I don't think it would be too much of a problem.

Also, aren't you glad Ramis at least wears a shirt :P. Sunai only wore shorts and sandals in the original ROT with a bastard sword and some sais.

Ya know, I was thinking of having Kyan make an appearance but only as some side thing. He's retiring right now with his girlfriend that I finally had brought back to life. He wouldn't do anything special though... just taking care of a farm land.
I added more stuff to my characters elemental list abilities and finally finished his history.. lost the site? Here it is again; http://www.freewebs.com/kingkeo22/drakkalynillisonkaeris.htm
Oh yes, so you know, the one known as Kaijin is just a personal body guard to Illison. He is a very large tiger. Detail will be added for him soon. The 'general idea' of what he looks like is in Journal Entry #2. He wouldn't be considered as a second character would he?

I have added Overall Appearance in my character's profile. If you guys want, if you're being lazy about it, I'll post up my character stuff in here LOL but it might take more than one post =P

Problemish with second characters, they usually tend to focus mostly around or have certain feelings/or craving someone's nuts of a person's main character..
Ya know, I'll make a second character and have it be female. I was thinking of using Rhed and have her follow my main character around.. she wants his nuts so bad... Mmmmm nuts.
So I'll make up another char and make it a female.

Character: Rebenal chan Tso'rath
Age: 27
Race/Sex: Human Male (though seemingly enhanced by something)
Class: Your guess is as good as mine?

Appearance:
Rebenal's features can only be described as hard. His body is lean, and his face chiseled. He stands just a shade over 6 foot tall, with cold, bright blue eyes. Although people rarely see much more than a pair of bright eyes, a whitened smile also hides behind his hooded face. Most would regard the looks they receive from him as from a predator watching his prey.

As for armor, he wears nothing profound to speak of. He wears leather tunic and somewhat baggy cargo pants, worn from years of travel. His black (although faded from years) cloak is well tailored, and barely billows in any wind. As to why, no one really knows. His shoes give him the ability to tread silently wherever he goes.

Weapons:
Swaying at his side under his cloak, he has a slender Samurai sword swaying in a glossy black scabbard. The blade of this sword seems unnatural, as the metal has a blue sheen to it, with pure black lining the edge. Hidden away in his "armor," he also carries numerous throwing knives, but rarely has a need to use them.

His other weapon is himself. He was trained from an early age, and some might even call his agility and dexterity... Unnatural. He knows little of magic compared to many in this world, only able to control fire, but he controls it with the precision of a master.

History:
Rebenal was trained at various academies for combat during his childhood. Though these academies weren't well known, they were good. At the age of 19, he decided to leave his final academy, a school teaching him magic. Since then, he wandered from place to place, avoiding the turmoil in the lands where he could.

Recently, he had run into groups of "Followers." Morons that they were, they tried to force him into conversion. The last village that he had visited, the entire town had refused to convert, and the Followers were just preparing to leave. They didn't make it past the last home in the village when he walked in. Somehow word got out about a lone person taking on Followers, though all he wanted was a freedom from oppression.

(I don't know, it sounds somewhat cheesy, maybe I can add to it or someone else can as well)

Name: Cyd Vigilant
Age: 29
Race: Sumian
Sex: Male
Class: Blade Mage

Appearance: (This could include attire if your character will be only wearing one thing throughout the story)

Cyd is sternly built for his 6'4" frame, especially considering his race's heritage, and has enouh ability in his strength to take on foes that others would consider a mistmatch for him. His semi-spiked dark green hair is worn to the edges of his shoulder blades in mostly a mess, but contrast nicely to his bright yellow eyes. A collection of small scars runs down the left side of his neck and throughout his torso. His lips seemed stuck in a saddened grin, only deviated from time to time.

He is suprisingly well kept, generally not looking too dirty or away from the concepts of hygiene. His face, teeth, and hair are well cleaned, with the hair even having a light shine to it. His skin isn't layered on with overly coating of dirty and grim, regardless of the battles he fights. His face is also mostly well shaven, althought a long enough time in the field leaves the Sumia with short dark green hair grown.

Armour/Attire: (Although it could be described in the appearance, elaborate on the armour here. Quality, make, any enchantments or such)

The armour that makes of Cyd's defenses is relatively light, constituting of a moderately thick vest, elbow-long gloves/bracers, and heavy boots. All the armour is coloured mostly in black, with outlines and decorative symbols of ancient Sumian Transites done in purple. The vest covers up to the neckline and down to the waist, with no protection given to the shoulders. Cyd wears no undershirt, so his arms are clearly visible between the gloves and the vest.
All components of his armour is made from Goliamine IV, a refined metal unfused with magical properties. This metal is relatively light and easy to mold, with moderate-to-low defense against physical weapons, but high defense against magical spells or enchantments.

The armoured boots have a small trio of spikes jutting out from the tips, only two-inches in height each. For leg gear, Cyd wears a pair of grey jeans, laced with small plates of Goliamine IV along the outter sides of the legs.
A red coloured cross sheath rests on his back, for a set of swords.

Personality: A cloud seems to always hang around him, composed of sadness and bitterness. He has not taken well to the reality of his races position amongst the current times of the Foundation Era. He generally keeps to being a-social, but will resort to a mask of socialness(of that being humourous, charming, and respectful) when around large groups of people that would be better dealt with in a smooth and "pleasant" manner. He prefers to settle problems with a weapon than through diplomacy, and makes it known all the time by carrying at least one of his blades with him. He dispises the Hand of Odin, and accuses them of travisties than are offen disregarded as nonsense...the foremost being that the religion is a lie to obtain power over all like any other evil of the past. He leaves no time in his life for women or romance, keeping his focus to sheer survival against the many followers of the Hand of Odin. He is often reckless with his hatred towards the HoO, putting others around him or otherwise innocent people in harms way, just to achieve some minor goal on his crusade, and makes no apologies about that.

Weapons: Zantetsuken, A 3 foot long ruby-coloured sword with evgravings of a foreign text on both faces. It's a single bladed sword of higher than average weight, with an elaborate guard of a knight an the edge fo the hilt. The hilt itself is wrapped in a black fabric which hangs off of it for a foot and a half. This sword is rumoured to have been built and used by the god Odin, during an internal bout with the rest of the Gods and the time. The quality of this sword some thousands of years later contradicts that fable.

Lohengrin, A 4 foot long sapphire coloured sword with an inch gap within one thick blade. The sword yields only a cross gaurd on the edge of the hilt, but is sharpened at the sides for alternative melee use. The hilt is a darker shade of the blades sapphire colour and connects to a blunt crest-bulb at the base.

Abilities: (Try to describe as much as possible about what your character can do)

All of Cyd's abilities are channelled through his two swords. The swords act as a catalyst for certain abilties.

Zantetsuken abilties:

Steel Bladed Sword - the sword lights up and charges for a few short seconds. The energy, when released, whips along the air with the sharpness of the sword itself, cutting in half all those in its path. The energy is neutral-based.

Hellfire - This ability requires the element of fire to be in the vacinity. Fire is absorbed into the balde and then shot out in a 15 meter long stream of fire. If a large amount of fire has been absorbed, the fire intensifies to a blue flame.
Judgement Bolt - This ability requires the element of lightning to be in the vacinity. The sword is stuck into or near the target, where it acts as a powerful lightning rod. The stirking lightning typically kills most enemies, and even has an area of effect for about 5 meters.

Diamond Dust - This ability requires the element of ice to be in the vacinity. When ice is absorbed into the blade, large icicles formed along the edges of the sword. When the accumulation has doubled the sword's length, the ice is shot outwards from the sword in a flurry of fast moving shards that generally causes serious flesh wounds.

Zante Flare - This ability requires the elements of fire, ice, and lightning to all be in the vacinity. Those elements are aborbed into the blade and released into a large ball which strikes and denonates on target. The explosive force shreds nearby buildings into rubble.

Odin's Chuckle - A yellow shields forms along the forearm of the hand using the sword, with a radius comparable to the swords length. This shield has only the purpose of taking what's thrown at it and repelling it back out. Sometimes this includes magical attackes being sent directly back to its caster.

Lohengrin abilities:

Nether Field - Jabbing the sword partially into the ground allows the sword to emmit a field approximately 10 meters in diameter and cannot be easily penetrated. This field is good for use for defence and offense. The defence is obvious. The offensive use is to generted this field in a crowd of enemies to seperate them. Cyd would have a much easier time taking on his foes in small groups than one big one.

Aura of the Spartan - This ability only lasts a few minutes, but during the effect of the spell any serious damage or kills made by the sword allows small jolts of white magic to be cast into Cyd, healing light-to-moderate wounds that have been sustained.

M-Jammer - Casting this prevents anyone, including himself, from using magic within a 50 meter distances from the point where the spell was cast. It doesn't necessarily stop spells that have already been cast.

Tannhauser - This takes up to an hour to properly charge magical energy. When it does, the sword is able to generate a what could be considered a magical cannon, capable of destroying small cities or whipping out a small army. This aftermath of casting this leaves Cyd exhausted and weak, to point of not being able to fight.

Well, it appears by bio makes the whole thing too big. Here it is seperately...

Biography: His parents were a people that took great pride in their races legacy up until the chaos had reigned will the disappearance of the Transites. When they had decided to make a family, they left the city of Odinia and made home in the depths of a massive city of ruins from Sumia past, untouched by the Hand of Odin. This is where Cyd was born and where he was raised for much of his pre-adolescence. He was taught by both parents. His mother teaching him particalities like math, Sumian(English), and languages like English, Kainyne, Feline, and Elven tonge of the Blood Elf variety. His father taugh him combat in various forms, and history of his people's once great reign.

When Cyd was 13, a silent task force of Felines, hoping to make a quiet strike on Odinia, made their way through the ruined city. Cyd's parents wouldn't lend the Felines help or information to them, and had then instigated a fight. Cyd managed to escape during the fray, injured. He survived wandering to the east, scavenging for food and drinking water before making it to the edges of Odinia, where he collapsed from exhauastion. When he awoke, he found himself in a HoO chruch, being attended to be two young girls. He was nursed back to health and then thrown into the chruch's Youth Reconstruction Program, being blended with kids from all varieties of races. The program was intensely focused on breaking the knowledge and lessons taught to the kids from their parents or previous societies, in order to make room for the sole focus on the belief that Odin was the one true god. Cyd was resiliant to this, and rebelled openly. He endured extensive punishment for this. His only allies were the two young girls whom he had befriended and continuously, and secretly, nursed him back into health after each of his torturous beatings.

Cyd was 16 by the time administrators had found out about his companions, and decided to use it against him. Although Cyd was rebellious to the ways of Odin, his was still and excellent soldier. The lives of the girls were threatened unless he fough in Odin's ranks against the unbelievers. Cyd complied. His first assignment was to the 169th Hunter Company, assigned to inflitrate and raid Kainyne military positions. He served that tour of duty in flying colours, earning recognition and three promotions from his superiors, reaching the rank of Sargeant. With the Kainynes held on the defensive, the 169th was turned onto the Felines, to do the same and make way for an invasion to an unaided Human continent. During the last mission, Cyd killed a Feline Commodore in middle of the combat, earning him some of the highest pristige so far in his duty. When the company returned to Odinia, a celebration was held for the people after a glorious victory over the beasts of the world. Disgusted at his abusers and sick of the naive cause, Cyd decided to make a stand during the celebration. He used his temporary VIP status to inflitrate the Grand Palace and killed a number of high ministers, stealing the Zantetsuken from the grand ministers chambers and fleeing. He was 21.

Making it clear off shore from the Odinian continent, the news of his attack had been made public, including the subsequent killing of both of the two girls that had taken care of him for so long. Cyd swore his would not let the girls' lives be taken in vein, and set back for Odinia with a new purpose. He figured between the propaganda, the wanted ads, the bounty hunters, the best place to hide and fight back was right under their own nose.

By the time he was 23, he had raided and disrupted numerous supply lines within the country, and in turn drew in a group of anti-Odin followers to his cause, mostly Felines and Kainynes. 42 in total joined up, and they called themselves the Odin's Deathbringers. They made base in Cyd's birthhome, turning the largest or deepest ruins into barrackses and factories for their war machines. They had overhwelming success against the armies of the Followers for three years, until someone in the group was taken prisoner and tortured into revealing the base's position. It was subsequently bombed by a Gryphon squadron. Cyd and the remaining 14 of the OD tried to remain at the base, to keep low until they were either thought dead or ran away. When the new 169th Hunter Company came in to assualt the base, Cyd and the rest had to fight. They were saved in the end by a woman known as Chael, one of the two girls that had taken care of Cyd before, and was supposedly killed during his stab. She joined the tiny remnants of the OD, seeking her own revenge against the HoO.

After news broke out about the invasion to the Human Continent, the OD embarked with their only naval vessel, the destroyer Pride.

With this out of the way, I figure we'll start soon before everyone grows restless.

Name: Syn Levacler

Age: 29

Race: Human

Sex: Male

Class: Musketer

Appearance: Stands at 5'8 and weighs in at 180 lbs of power. Cool light blue eyes, almost a grey color, with short neatly combed grey hair. He doesn't shave often there is a weeks worth of stuble on his face. In his left breast, over his heart, is the old symbol that once belonged to the Cult of Serenity - a cresent moon and star. At times were he is feeling clever he has a grin that would do his ancesteral father proud.

Armour/Attire: A dark large brimed hat with a dark read feather in the outerband. Wears a light brown tunic with black pants, belt with pouches tight to his side for his mollie-balls and gun powder. Gun holster straped on his left thigh and his short sword straped on his lower back. He has large dark brown knee-high leather boots and a large dark red cotten coat with grey-metallic shoulder guards. Wears two dark red gloves (the fingers and thumbs are cut off).

Personality: He has a good humor and is easy going. He can be a tad sarcastic and cynical at times but he doesn't take it at all too far. He has a slightly inflated ego.

Weapons: Blunderbust and short sword

Abilities: Charmer of Women

Biography: The Levacler family is known through out the world as a powerfull family in both politics and magic and it is rare that a family member doesn't devote themselves to one or the other. Syn, much to the shagrin of his family, is only devoted to himself. The Levacler family can trace its roots three mellenia to a single man; no - a single demi-god. Aridous.

As blood happens to be the blood has thined (but the joke is that the Levacler's still bleed black.) but the magic that flows from them is still dangerously powerfull. As with all families there are two sides to them. Not the figuratives of a ficade but that there was a schism during the first Magic Seal Era and a third of the family branched off and steped out of their ancestral home and changed the spelling of their name. Since the second generation the family moto has always been that they take care of their own. Despite their difference family loyalty has saved each side of the family. When the Levacler's were attacked their brothers, the Le Vaclers would come to assist them and vice versa. Even though they knew they couldn't see past their differences to allow eachother to join as one family again but they knew the differences weren't strong enough to stop eachother from making a powerfull alliance with eachother that still stands to this day.

Before the alliance each child was taught to hate their cousins and that Aridous was only pleased with their family. Both sides taught this doctrine of hate but it was just only a houndred years before their alliance that this doctrine has been dead. Of course, a few try to revive it and is in prisoned for re-education. As with both families the highest ranking male family member serves as the high priest to the Lord of Terror. The Cult of Terror isn't as strong as it used to be since the Hand of Odin emerged on the scene yet the Cult still has a strong following between the two rival families, assassians, and the world's military.

Since this new religeon formed they started a smere campaign first on those religions that don't preach peace. The two families had a good laugh and sent a gift to the temple in Odinia in appreciation of the kind words.

Syn, as every child born into the Levacler family, grew up proud of his family, himself, and most importantly, his Father-God. The culture of the of Durge is that one child (male and female) within the Levacler family is sent to the Temple of Fear to train as a monk to later become a priest of a district of their choosing. The other children (male only) are sent to the Valley of Existential Despair to train as warriors to protect the borders from the Opaquin and Odinia.

Syn was proudly taken from his parents at the age of eight and spent twelve years in the Valley. Although he graduated he had a hard time in his three years of service. Being the great-grandson to the High Preist Ari'Durok, he was allowed to leave the service with full military honor. Later, feeling ashamed that he didn't stay for his full twenty-years, he took it upon himself to travel the border of his country with a small group of friends one month out of every three and report to the High Priest of anything the two enemy countries were up to.

Since the weapons are WWII era. I'm guessing just the style of rifles and nothing else, right Omni? I'll then change Syn's weapon from Blunderbuss to Gewehr 41 .

Never mind! Changed it to this bad baby! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1941_Johnson_rifle

Style of rifles, AT guns, AA guns, Tanks, and partically the naval style. The destroyer Pride would be not unlike that of a Type 32 Destroyer used by the Axis.

That's why swords and such are still in play. Had this been more realistic, things would have been entirely WW2-y. Magic is what disrupts the evolution of guns and whatnot from consuming the style of warfare.

Knodr, just so you know I was preparing for a naval battle although some ships did go ahead to warn the people of St. Ferris. It is possible that some also went in your direction, but the first battle anyway will probably be at open sea.

Okay, a couple things that's gotten me curious there Knodr.

1) A couple times you've mentioned somethings that has made me wonder if your clear on the situation. You do know that St. Ferris is Human land, right? It's being invaded by the Hand of Odin, right?

2) As of your last post, was that suppose to be my chars? 'Cause they just got to St. Ferris let along leave it eastbound. Please clarify, cause I'm scratching my head.

I got a head of myself. I'll edit. Edited my post. My bad, Omni.

We need a map of our urniverse jsut so we know where everyone is comeing from you know. And to help prefent me from screwing things up.

Perhapes I should mention here (even though its somehwere in my post in game) that the Empire of Terrorem borders that of Odinia. It's because of the Imperial Military that Odinia didn't get a foothold in the Empire and the Dominion of Angust to the north of the Empire.

Hmm, from what I know of RoT and RoT II, Odinia (formerly Sumia) and Kardassia had a long border thus the Kainyne and Sumians (now Kainyne and HoO) border each other. This continent, which probably includes others, is across the ocean from human continent thus the large naval fleet.

A few things things about that last post, good buddy...

1) You're welcome.

2) You seem like you're still not clear on the situation. Cyd and Chael are not human, like you had before. They're not apart of the Human Coalition, let alone the leader of the defense force. Read my posts again, it's there.

3) You should have probably remembered that I'm the only really fussy one about having my characters used by other people. Please don't do that, okay? We can work this over PMs if you'd like have me work into my characters to have them say something for you...as in that letter for instance(although giving one to him is kinda pointless since he's only here to fight).

4) Left your sig in. :P

I'm don't want to be the ***** of these games(again), but I really can't post to that given what's there.

I thought you were going to have the team with Syn in it stop Cyd and Chael for suspicion of being the HoO, maybe with the hope of offering the leader of the defence force coalition a nice prize to show good faith or something.

Edit?
