Japanese Television

Do any of you watch the non-animated television series? You know... "J-Drama" etc. Though, why people prefix it with "J-" as though it being Japanese makes it somehow better is beyond me.

Anyway, I just got done watching Yanpapa, which I thought was pretty cute, and I'm in the process of watching GTO, so I wanted to get other opionions.

Feel free to discuss whatever, including movies (anyone seen Tampopo?)

I watch Hey! Hey! Hey! and the J-pop Hits show on the international channel. A good source of japanese bands.

GTO is awesome, Rob. My sister cried, my girl friend cried, I cried. So yeah, it's that good, even better than the anime. You're Under Arrest is alright, haven't finished it, though. Also, did you notice Japanese dorama seems more realistic than domestic dramas? No one is rich, no one has a lot of lovers...crap like that.

Well, at least there isn't a lot of the crap as found in Young and the Restless or Days of Our Lives.

Stephano resurrecting himself or some ****...crap like that. At least the play of human emotions are a bit more true to life from the ones I watch on the NHK we get here.

haha, i can see how much you like GTO, since your current avatar is the male lead. the female lead is pretty too :)

you all should watch Hero too. it's another jap classic by one of the most popular actor in japan, kimura. it's hilarious.

Actually, Fuyutsuki isn't that hot. Nanako and Tomoko are the hotties. Nanako has that special allure, while Nanako looks like a Japanese Catherine Bell (the Jag lady).

i don't think i was refering to Fuyutsuki. i was refering to that lady teacher who in end was couple with Onizuka. i think her name's nanako, right? i don't really remember their names.
