Well m'lady the 80's transformers, that was cool. My friend has every episode on his computer and they kick ass, I own the movie too. The reason why its the best anime? because of the noise the transformers make when they transform GRRR-GIIRR-RRIRRRR-ERRR or TCHUK-TCHUK-TCHIK-TCHIK i can't really type it but y'know, good stuff m'lady ;)

i see the new anime forum is up :)
well the transformers rules man! they were my childhood fav! i esp luv optimus. say, there was another autobots leader in the 2nd season of transformer right? the flying guy... forgot his name tho... man i had the toys when i was young, but sigh, after many years of wear n tear...
the next fav anime of mine would hafta be initial d. the cars were damn cool! it's abt illegal racing, for those dun knoe, n unlike shows like fast n furious, it depicted the lives of real illegal racers in japan. no drugs involved, no flashy n useless tuned up cars. it even made me luv the old trueno 86...

Last EXILE. Very engrossing plot, great characters (Dio just rocks). Other than that, Haibane Renmei for the same reasons, and both have nice OSTs

I'd have to say my favorite out of all the anime I own would have to be Angel Sanctuary, eventhough there were only 3 episodes of it made and it was made for the fans. Story touched me and so did the music and characters. I'd like to know what all goes on in the manga, but its only in japanese and french. :(
Some of my other favorite anime include .hack//SIGN, Maison Ikkoku, Vampire Princess Miyu, and Vampire Hunter D.

OOooooOO i just remembered a cool anime on a while back, it was called escaflowne? i liked that and somehow i remember getting up early on sunday mornings to watch samurai pizza cats :D it's been a long time so i don't remember if it was good or not, all i remember is cats going in pizza ovens and getting shot out of a big house/gun thing and they would turn all armoured and the music would start playing SAMURAI PIZZA CATS....there the heros who always were FUR! or something like that

Berserk, InuYasha, Iria, Street Fighter: The Movie, Legend of Dragoon (only seen first tape :(), and Blue Gender :D
I like these animes because of the action/fighting/adventure/insane giggles/decent story line/artwork :D
and Shinzo ^_^

meh a couple I guess
Kare Kano is good, especially because Arima is probably one of the most interesting characters I've seen in an anime. Its perplexing how the two can have such a tender relationship when Arima is secretly a huge psychotic maniac....
Angel Sanctuary and Yami no Matsuei ^_^
Right now though would be either Last Exile, for the reasons Rob mentioned, and Scrapped Princess, which just has the best plot devices and story telling that i have seen in quite a while.

Yes, Scrapped Princess is so good, I'm really empathizing with the characters (I almost cried with Pacifica was talking to her mom!)

Ok, I've gotten back into the anime game. I am currently watching Macross ZERO, which is a sort of 'prequel' to the Macross Saga that started the entire Macross series.

Sailor Moon was what got me into anime in the first place. And I still love it, so shut up. I also love Ranma 1/2 though. And as for comic books, Bondage Faeries is the way to go. So, those are my three favourite animes.

The only ones I really watched continually were DBZ, Hellsing and Trigun.

dirty hentai fiend neh?
bondage faeries isn't really an anime either...
anyways
Robert: I think the entire reason for Fulle's existence was his uncanny resemblance to Shannon. When she first sees Shannon again in the castle, she thinks its Fulle...

Great Teacher Oonizuka Live Drama. I know, it isn't anime, but hell, I "borrowed" it off a torrent site that had it under it's anime section. And, it is either based or the basis for the anime.

Nobody answered my question, is Thundercats anime?
Personally I don't really go out of my way to watch anime, I prefer American cartoons. The best American cartoons tend to kick the **** out of any anime. But occasionaly if an Anime comes on, I'll watch it.
Like there was this show that was on at midnight on Cartoon Network called "Reign" that was pretty cool.

ThunderCats is American in design, but Japanese in animation style.
Or something like that. Anime is more artistic. Plus, US animation houses still consider animation as being something for children. There are few exceptions, but they are very, very few.
That's my opinion, anyway.

Yes Thundercats is an anime, a darn good one. I downloaded the theme song last week..hahhh... brinks back memories.
I still get goose bumps when i remember the part when Lion - O pulls out his sword and calls everyone to him.
IT'S JUST WAY TOO COOL, for words.

Blade
October 17th, 2003, 7:02pm
Voltron? Wasn't that the computer generated one with the robot lions? That was pretty sweet, but it wasn't an anime.
Morkelb
October 17th, 2003, 7:05pm

My favorite animes have to be Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and The Slayers.
Mononoke and Spirited Away were both made by the same guy, they're awesome anime movies with great storylines. And Slayers is just hillarious.

Quite a list of favorites but for me i must say Gundam Wing is my all time favorite.
Why because the first time u watch GW it seems simple and inspiers the feeling of blah. But as u watch and look deeper into why this or that action was teken u relize how deep it really is.
btw The battles are a marvel to watch so that makes it easy.
For a very close almost a tiem at second would be Bampier Hunter D original.

Hmmm "Bampire Hunter D" was pretty good.

gundam is a classic. the only problem is the obviously outdated animation. i think gundam 0083 and on were very good. endless waltz is an anime superiority
